Golden Eagle

Today we decided to get out of the smog of the valley and bird in some clean air. We headed up to Heber City and then over to Red Cliffs State Park. We came across a Golden Eagle eating on a deer carcass surrounded by Magpies wanting a taste. We viewed a total of four Golden Eagels, two bald eagles, lots of American Robins and a few Townsend Solitairs.

American Kestrel

Our plan was to return to Antelope Island and try and photograph the Ruff and perhaps the Varied Thrush, but it was reported that a Praire Falcon snared the Ruff. Farminton Bay was cold and held very few birds within viewing disance from the roads, but what we were able to see was fabulous.
